
Jeremy Verwys is a local Grand Rapids area musician and teacher. He is currently working towards a graduate degree in performance as well as music therapy at Illinois State University where he studied with Dr. Angelo Favis in guitar. Jeremy received his Bachelors of Music in performance from Grand Valley State University, studying with Carlos De la Barrera and has an Associates degree from Grand Rapids Community College with instructors Andrew Bergeron and Brian Morris.
Jeremy has performed with the Grand Rapids Symphony, as well as with the dance faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp where he has been commissioned in 2015 to compose and perform original works. He has participated in master-classes with renowned guitarists Thomas Viloteau, Marcin Dylla, Carlos Perez, Johannes Möller, and Jason Vieaux, along with private studies with Goran Ivanovic and Adam Holzman. As a member of the GRCC Guitar Ensemble, he played in several of the annual Mid American Guitar Ensemble Festivals, one of which afforded a master-class with the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet. He divides his time teaching and instructing music at Triumph Music Academy in Grand Rapids and Adjunct Faculty at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL.
